Henri Stathopoulos

Education Officer - Drama

Henri has been a Drama teacher for over 30 years. She has also taught English, VET Entertainment (Cert III In Live Theatre and Technical operations) and Studies of Religion to Senior students for many years within the CEDP (Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta). Her skills have been used on Syllabus Development, HSC Exam Committees and Drama Resource development.

As a Director and Dramaturg she has worked with Senior Drama Ensembles as part of CAPTIVATE for the last 5 years. She has worked with many Industry professionals in all areas of CAPA, working on cross-curricular develpment, and has been Artistic Director of Chalkdust Theatre.

Whilst she has directed many plays for Chalkdust Theatre, she has also had students involved in the Short and Sweet Theatre Festival, Sharp and Short Theatre festival, and has written extensive teaching notes for the STC, Chalkdust and Currency Press.

She is highly sought by teachers of all levels of experience to help them prepare for their classrooms, and her experience with large scale events including 17 years of  Premier Grand Final Rock Eisteddfod as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the Sydney Olympics and Pacific School Games, has taken her out the classroom and into the bigger event world.

Her expertise was also utillised at the invitation of the then US Surgeon General at implementing the Drug-free Rock Challenge competition in Washington DC public schools. Henri has presented both nationally and internationally on the drama conference circuit, has run numerous workshops on directing and acting, and has also been an actor/singer and writer herself for Chalkdust Theatre and for 2 Day FM.

Henri has taken students overseas on large tours, performing in Disneyland and various DC schools and her 16 years of teaching HSC drama has given her a wealth of knowledge, all of which she is excited to bring to the CASPA program.
