Iris McGill

M.EdCA, B.Ed

Iris’ debut on stage began as an energetic performer at Australia’s Wonderland and her quest for fun led her to the primary classroom as a generalist primary teacher. Since then her teaching experience of Dance and Drama has spanned across primary, secondary and tertiary classrooms over the past 18 years. As an advocate for the Arts in the curriculum, her journey has brought her to lecturing at Sydney University (B’Ed and M. In 2007, Iris was part of the writing team and steering committee that published the text, Everybody Dance Now, as a resource to support primary teachers in the teaching of Dance in the Classroom. Her passion for Dance Education has seen her work closely with the BOS to develop course prescriptions for Stage 6 and participate in the Dance Education in Australian Schools Forum.

Her love of the performing arts has seen her connected with CaSPA since its inception in 1999, as part of the Creative Team for Jubilee 2000 and more recent productions include Director/ Choreographer for the “Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” at The Seymour Centre, Co-Director of “Entertaining Angels” at Sydney Entertainment Centre, part of the Creative Team for WYD, Sydney 2008 & Co-Director of “Tell Me A Story” 2012 Sydney Catholic Schools.
