The Authentic Learning Project

Authentic Learning Through Performing Arts (ALPA)

"Authentic learning is at the very heart of the work of the Catholic Schools, we used music to deepen our understanding of the morals of the story of the Good Samaritan which are empathy, mercy and compassion.” – Student.

Join us again this year for an all-day workshop where teachers and students actively engage in collaborative processes to improve their understanding and practice of theatrical forms.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT? The ALPA project is about rigorous teaching and learning in key learning areas using performing arts strategies for creative and critical thinking.
WHAT DOES IT DO? The ALPA project serves to highlight the 8 key principles of Authentic Learning by pairing a KLA with an arts discipline. Through performing arts pedagogies, students are engaged in processes that promote deep, sensory learning and strong connections to concepts to make meaning.
